Dog Sledding

Jasper Dog Sledding

Jasper Dog Sledding (December 2018)

On the 28th December we drove to Cold Fire Creek, just over Valemont in British Columbia in Canada. At Cold Fire Creek the dogs and sleds were ready to go for a dog sledding tour. We had 8 Alaskan Huskies before our sled. The Alaskan Husky has shorter hair than the Siberian Husky. It should be too warm in this environment for the Siberian Husky. The huskies were all barking. There were 48 of them.
After a short instruction how to operate the dogsled we started the trail through gorgeous scenery. As soon as the huskies ran they stopped barking. However when the huskies stopped running, they started barking.  Just after the turn halfway we had a BBQ lunch. After the lunch the trail went down and back to Cold Fire Creek.

Maligne Canyon

Maligne Canyon

Jasper Maligne Canyon (December 2018)

In the afternoon of the 26th December we walked through the Maligne Canyon close to Jasper. The Maligne Canyon is like a fairytale with frozen waterfalls, ice caves and incredible ice formations covered with fresh snow. We started at the Maligne Canyon Teahouse and hiked downhill to the fifth bridge. At several places you can go down in the Maligne Canyon and walk on the ice.

Jasper Wildlife Viewing

Jasper Wildlife Viewing (December 2018)

After two days of skiing we did something else: winter wildlife discovery tour. We had supposed to see Elk, deer, sheep, goats, coyotes, wolves and moose: the example of the Jasper’s mountain fauna.
See the video and see the elks, mule deer, bighorn sheep’s and looking for wolves.
