We were close to the Almbachklamm and could hit the road so early. The canyon opened at 8am. We were there before half past eight. Lovely, alone, or actually together, in the gorge. It was beautiful. It was good that it had rained for the past few days. There was quite a bit of water in the river. The weather was good. A few showers were so soft that a rain jacket was not necessary. You became even wetter from the water that splashed off the walls of the Almbachklamm. At the top we walked back via Ettenberg so that we got a tour. The descent was steep with many steps. We didn’t meet anyone here.

Montes de Malaga, Andalusia

Montes de Malaga is one of the many fascinating natural parks in Andalusia and it covers an area of approximately 5000 hectares. You can find this protected natural area just 5 kilometers north of the city of Malaga and it is therefore considered the green part of this capital of the Costa del Sol. The park belongs for 96% to Malaga itself and the other parts belong to the cities of Casabermeja and Colmenar.

Montes de Malaga is home to many species of mammals, birds and plants and the height of the mountains in this area varies between 80 and 1000 meters above sea level. Also here lies the origin of the Guadalmedina and this river that runs through the area also has 5 side branches, including the Arroyo de los Frailes, the best known of all.
We made the side trip to Montes de Malaga from our trip to Malaga.

Tijdens onze reis in Andalusië maakten we vanuit Málaga een uitstapje naar de prachtige stad Granada. In Granada bezochten we uiteraard het Alhambra. We begonnen echter met een wandeling door het centrum van Granada. Op de Paseo de los Tristes was het gezellig met Spaanse muzikanten. Vanaf het Paseo de los Tristes hadden we overigens al een mooi uitzicht op het Alhambra. We liepen langs de Capilla Real de Granada en door de Alcaicería naar de mooie Jardines del Generalife met het Palacio del Generalife. In het Alhambra bekeken we het Palacio de Carlos V en de Alcazar de la Alhambra de Granada.

Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen

Een dagje in de Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen

De Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen is een gebied in de duinen tussen Zandvoort (Noord-Holland) en Noordwijk (Zuid-Holland).
Het duingebied verzorgt de winning van drinkwater voor Amsterdam. Er stroomt jaarlijks vijftig miljoen kubieke meter drinkwater door dit 3400 hectare grote gebied. De Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen is het oudste waterwingebied van Nederland. In de Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen wordt al sinds 1853 water gewonnen.
De Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen heeft het grootste aantal damherten van Nederland. Er schijnen er ongeveer 3.000 rond te lopen. En dat kan je merken ook. Damherten spotten is hier een koud kunstje. In deze video zie je een aantal prachtige exemplaren.
Behalve de velen damherten hebben we ook een vos gespot.
